for change dance collective (fcdc) is a democratic dance-making experiment whose mission is to make dance in an environment that fosters the complete creative investment of each of our collaborators. fcdc aims to present performances in ways that broaden the accessibility of innovative modern dance to new audiences, and is embarking on a long-term collaborative undertaking that we’ve lovingly dubbed “The Nicaragua Project”. fcdc has begun laying the groundwork to create a full-length dance theatre piece and a film that artfully combines screen dance and documentary filmmaking, inspired by ongoing work with Katie Fitzgerald of Teatro Catalina, a theater education program working with underserved communities in rural Nicaragua. fcdc is passionate about sharing the stories of survival, community, and beauty that have touched us through our experiences in Nicaragua, and committed to doing them justice.
for change dance collective invites you to join them for a fundraiser event which will support their ambitious endeavors. The evening will feature live music, dancing, pop-up performances, a raffle and silent auction…and most importantly, lots of food and drink! Join us as we dance, eat, celebrate, and come together to offer our support…for change!
