“Green Windows both invites & creates authenticity…. The whole two hours shifts your stories, making you better at being yourself; being a writer or a Writer that’s more true to your own word. At the same time, you seamlessly join a diverse, genuine community.”
“This is a great set-up for new people to come in and feel welcome. A very relaxed atmosphere which managed to inspire wonderful writing. It felt like a great space for creation, creativity, the creative impulse.”
“I do my best writing in this workshop.”
“I liked the remarkable brilliance, creativity and humor of each participant and the warm leadership of Peggy.”
– Uniquely Yours participants
This workshop will develop your natural writing talents and the writer’s voice that is unique to you. You have your own experiences, culture and personality that can feed rich writing only you can produce.
Sandra Cisneros wrote in the introduction to her book The House on Mango Street that when she discovered the voice that was her own she was then able to talk and sound like herself:
“Then I could speak, shout, laugh from a place that was uniquely mine, that was no one else’s in the history of the universe, that would never be anyone else’s, ever.”
In this workshop you will generate great writing from the place that is uniquely yours.
For over seven years, this workshop has brought together writers of all levels, experiences and genres. It is perfect for the just-beginning writer as well as practiced writers who need a new spark, want to take new risks, or seek community. We use the Amherst Writers and Artists workshop method to assure a safe and creative space for writers from all backgrounds and levels of experience.
16 year olds and older are welcome.
Long-term commitment is encouraged.
This workshop will be held every FOURTH Sunday.
Class fee: $1-$25, pay what you can.
