=SPAZ Party=

* Very successful last time, though the tea lounge in La Commune didn't get torn down until the next day
* Want to do monthly 1st Firday event that could expand to include art shows
* DK - we need to agree on constraints of the event
** Insurance needed
** Cant sell alcohol, for now no alcohol
** Need to figure out basement occupancy
** Clean up before the next morning
* Lucas - makes sense to us. The first was a test. We didn't promote it much. We can try to figure it out.
* Technically could call it a private party, invite-only, those who RSVP make it on a list,
* Historically basement is only permitted for private assembly
* Alcohol not for sale ok, or not?
* Lucas will be Spaz person for this event and will try to work it out with Commons. Jenny can be day-of PP. David and Jake will work out the details w Lucas this week.
* David will send 1 sheet explanation of what makes a private event, and email list of concerns

* Library folks would be interested in helping construct the sound wall - could use people who know how to drywall, how to frame

* Maximilian Klein - Jenny will write Max to let him know that date is unavailable - wrote 5/23
* aikido class? - explained insurance situation, waiting to hear back
** Ben will email or call: so far martial arts classes have not worked very well. enough people haven't come for them to be sustaining. WOuld need to have his own insurance. Trial period of 6 weeks to see how it goes. Ballroom isn't the space. SHould come here to see the spaces. Email 1999wildcat@gmail.com (John)
* Race, Space, Violence: Challenging Scholarly Praxis - niki, update? They're confirming times and budget for space rental but it's a go.

* June 11th International Day of Solidarity with Long-Term Anarchist Prisoners - Jenny in touch with Centi, suggesting Disco Room - published, wrote back 5/23
* Cat Den Fundraiser - will prob go with another location, strike it if we don't hear back next week
* EFF Speakeasy Meetup - Jenny will follow up with Bill, will follow up and see how much they can pay, publish as Private Event
* weaving radical journalism in mexico - Yar is pp with support from Jenny, will ask for 20%
* Film screening of Fuck Off, Google! approve for 6/24 8-10 in ballroom. Mitch is showing. Will pass hat for Omni. Laura is PP.
* Benefit for Emilia: kicking leukemia’s ass - complicated event. Jenny will email. - Niki already emailed, asked to meet in person, waiting to hear back
* Stay Brown Stay Down Fest - Laura will follow up, see if Brenda can get trained as a point person

* Make | Believe Ball - Niki emailed, Julio is point person. Night before Halloween. Follow-up meeting in mid-June
** thoughts on how much to charge appreciated (contact Julio) See if they are still willing to pay $2000 once they know they need insurance and Alcohol event permit. Insurance will be somewhere between $150-250, Im guessing.
* Ben raises question if self defense classes hosted by BAPS need to have own insurance. He will look into that and report back. Pretty sure these classes aren't happening at the Omni any longer. I can follow up
