Omni Commons Working Group 27 June 2015
= New events discussion =
* Mara - July 10th electronic music event, would like to have it in the Disco Room, and is willing to test sound levels during the day, we can sync with the neighbors
** If Disco Room doesn't work out, we can do it in the basement
** Self-sufficient w/ lighting and sound
** Is experienced with electricity - contact for work days :)
** Will be serving alcohol, free with admission cost, will frame as a private event
** Knows a lot of sound technicians!
=Finance Liaison=
* Niki is Finance/Commons liaison, will be recording deposits/payments
* Mailbox next to TIL for deposits - put a note on the cash/check indicating who it's from

* Biohacker and Mad Scientist Social - Jenny gave CCL folks login to /calendar/ to directly add their events
* March for Elephants Planning Meeting - jenny will pp, emailed today. sorry :/
* Rehearsals for Generation of Dreams: We need to figure out how to fit in all the rehearsals
* Rent Party / Art Show - 7/11 Jenny will pp
* Rank and File Meeting of AC Transit Bus Drivers: Ben will contact, knows the requester
* Feminist Brunch - yar will follow up. agreed they don't need to pay.
* IMYP Book and T-shirt release - Nikki will follow up because she is awesome
* Fundraiser for legal fees - 7/26 Noemie
* Isaura’s Brazilian Workshop of Dance, Rhythm, Chant with Live Percussion 6/6 3-6: will approve once Niki checks with event in disco room on loudness - Niki will check in w/Isaura; no update as of 06/13/15 - ask collectives for feedback re: impact noise first b4 rescheduling. Think 6/6 was cancelled / moved. - Jenny will contact.
** Noemie will check with sudo room. Prob doesn't bother Suders that much. Public School and commons meeting and tohers in building more affected.
** We were only given $30 for her first 3 events
** Idea suggested to have event earlier - from 9-12am when there is less going on.
** We should ask for a minimum of $200 or 20%, whichever is more for the ballroom fr 2 hours
** Also offer basement

*Playback Theatre workshop for our ensemble 7/5 9:30-5:30 ballroom Have never responded about looking at the space. Niki will email.
*Heart of Community Dinner: Living Sustainably Together in Oakland - DAvid B is working on this
*Benefit for Emilia: kicking leukemia’s ass - see above item on Digital Detox. Niki emailed re: DD, hasn't heard back
*Takun Takun (“move -move”/”Shake it “in Farsi) Persian DJ Dance Party Fundraiser - nOemie has advised that needs to put down deposit to reserve space. Hasn't called back.
*Building Our Future: 15 Years of A World Without Prisons - Event is progressing will publish when contract is signed prob next week. (looks like laura is in touch)Still in process but coming together

* Active Music Series - Published Laura will contact and find day-of responsibilibuddy
* Dry-5: Stories from the California Drought - Jenny will contact, can't commit to day-of responsibilibuddying but will find someone
* Coaching for Social Change, Thriving Changemaker Intensive - Laura emailing, asking for $15K, will need team of responsibilibuddies (Laura / Jenny / Niki)
* Lyn Hejinian - Stephen, Jenny will contact to make sure this gets published

* Private Event tomorrow AM
* Private Event tomorrow 6-9pm - Jenny will contact Stephen to ask that public school hosted events go through the public school calendar, all others must go through Commons via an event request
* July 1 screening of 1971 - Niki and Noemie/OpAl will be day-of responsibilibuddies
** Jenny will ask David about strategy for covering the skylights

* Call Disco Room neighbors to see when would be a good time to test sound (Jenny/DK)
* Upgrade website to show photos of the different spaces and 'pitch' them better (Jenny)
