Agenda:

1) talked about tokenism in regards to race, how white the group is, how to be honest about our intentions, not coming from a “white saviour” place or thinking that we have some amazing thing that we are graciously giving to anyone in a patronizing manner, but rather beginning conversations with “what do you need? what can i do (if anything) to support in your struggle?

2) Wrote a draft for community potluck invite, see below. Once the delegates have approved the flyer language, we will schedule time to go door to door in the neighborhood to meet folks and invite them to a potluck to see the space, meet others in our groups, and tell us what they would be interested in seeing happen at the OMNI.

3) Talked about potential dates for group communication/facilitation training, and the necessity of using positive/not fear-based language. Niki has been coordinating with AORTA to schedule a facilitation training in August.

4) concern about some of the online communication, consensed that both things are true: 1) all decisions that are made IRL must be recorded online in order to be valid 2) online communication can’t be privileged in that final decisions/inclusive conversations are not possible because of a large majority of people not being willing/able for a number of reasons to read every post necessary to fully track a conversation/topic.

3) We will propose that the standing meeting for CDC be every other Wednesday at 7 pm. This is subject to change, depending on Sudo’s availability at that time.

Both sudo room and Counter Culture Labs have had 7pm Wednesday meetings for over a year now. Who decided on this time? :( --Tunabananas (talk) 19:45, 1 July 2014 (UTC)

4.) Action items: --check out sudo’s conflict resolution on their site as a potential template for Omni conflict resolution: https://sudoroom.org/wiki/Articles_of_Association#Section_3.2_Conflict_Resolution
