The Feminist Hydra is a small group of variously identified poets, book artists, performance artists, community organizers, mothers, queers, allies, and arts educators. We are interested in developing community around empowerment, accountability and communication; and in the intersections of experimental poetics and radical politics with feminist, anti-racist, anti-classist, and ally work. | |||
We are also tired. Tired of thinking we should say something, but that we don’t know what to say or who we can trust to say it to. Tired of watching our friends drift away from readings and arts events because they aren’t supported. Tired of muzzling ourselves, of tying ourselves up in knots, of going along to get along, of patching each other up. | |||
We want to do our part to build a community in which we have each others’ backs. | |||

The feminist hydra wants to ask ourselves and you: how do we create feminist, non-binary and queer space? Space we can actually live in?
