Building WG August 3, 2015

intros

  • yar, mary, daniel, hassan, matt, robb, jessie, gwen, Patrik

south wall

  • all wiring is done, boxes exposed. changing the plan for wiring under the floor. just need to do the exit sign. stressing about light fixtures. will put 4x4 boxes at the large pillars, embedded nice & pretty, run up from the floor conduit. romex will continue up on each pillar to another box with light fixtures. still not sure when ready for inspection - maybe 60% done. hopefully another week or less.
  • matt reminds everyone to go to urban ore before HD
  • electrician told robb his infinity mirror is a great idea
  • they'll also be working on saturday

Review of electrical work for sound wall: Panel AE DONE - Identified 4 empty slots for breakers and a 5th existing breaker that has been disconnected (since it ran along the sound wall) DONE - Ran 2 more wires through existing conduit to the West wall of the ballroom floor (near mop closet) DONE - Run 2+ more wires through new 3/4" conduit from panel AE to " " " " " " " Mezzanine banister outlets DONE - Cut ~1" holes through each joist under floorboards to South Mezzanine floor. DONE - Ensure we have the proper bits for said holes. DONE - Mount ~10 outlet boxes near floor with 3/4" conduit, proper shielding / connectors / etc Sound Wall SKIP - Cut two rows of ~1" holes through Northernmost studs of sound wall. TODO - Run 12-3 romex through mezzanine floor joists with extra lines run South across the floor boards at each ballroom truss. TODO - Run 12-3 romex through mezzanine floor joists to Exit Sign and staircase lights for SE stairase above mezzanine. TODO - Add nail plates to each mezzanine joist. TODO - Drill holes in mezzanine floor boards at each major post (braces for trusses). TODO - Install 4x4x4 junction box (with extender) Future TODO LATER - Install another 3/4" rail of conduit from Panel AE to the West wall of ballroom floor

  • troy: dark, potentally dangerous
  • laura: (which stairwell?) I have a lead on led strip ights that I tried to follow up but haven't heard back fro the guy

front door

  • they bought the wood
  • jake didn't want to buy a $1k button. yar says let's do it now to get reimbursed.

other doors

  • jessie will host another door party saturday August 8 at noon. several doors have been sitting around, ready to be rehung
  • doom doors need new hinges from home depot

bathroom

  • yar wants to mount the toilet ASAP, joe wanted to do tiles but he's gone.
  • easy tasks would be hanging the toilet paper dispenser, drywalling, mounting the rear bar

foyer ceiling

  • lots of conduit up there, rob wants to hook it up for running the fans
  • it can't just hang there. probably unsafe & illegal

permits

  • waiting on david keenan to give us "other legal contacts" he has. or should we find our own lawyers for this? we're flailing. no birds eye view. no sense of priorities.

vermin

  • Patrik is still catching mice - definitely not solved problem. Bought one extra electric mouse trap (they seem to work well).
  • apparently there's a rat upstairs that has been see frequently enough to have been given a name?
  • Patrik put up a few fly paper spirals in trash room and at Fermentation Station
