Updates

  • Jenny: Only 11 more financial transactions to reconcile :P then we can move on the possible loan.
    • Wow, thank you! Any way we can help examine them? Are they posted somewhere, I couldn't find the google doc I had seen before...

loans

  • Mortgage
    • Matt and Marcus met and worked on some of the application componants. Marcus has experience with business plans. MArcus worked on a questionnaire for the executive summary, located in the cloud.
    • Matt has mortgage broker contact (brother of Kiva contact) who is interested in working with us. Calling now.
  • Other steps once there is a mortgage offer from a CR
    • Tell John that it is his last chance to give us an owner finance offer. Otherwise we will go with CU
    • Tell Brew its his last chance to save us from taking a CU loan or give us the donation he offered


  • Kiva Loan Idea
    • Get Kiva loans for some of the essential work that needs to be done and that would have immediate pay off in terms of building functionality and ability to bring in other income from events or kitchen usage.
      • Would require making clear and accurate budgets for the projects and finding committed and capable project managers who might also serve as the faces of the Kiva campaign.
      • These kinds of short-term loans actually can help us look good to the bank / CU we approach for a mortgage because it shows we have a viable business that is investing in its income streams.
      • Could serve as a rallying mechanism within the existent omni commons community to increase participation and morale by banding together for a strong collaborative push and showing rapid progress upon completion.
      • Kiva would also understand that these projects are being supported and implemented by more than just the individually named groups, it being something that is overseen and taken on by the omni commons itself through the delegates council.
    • Kiva loan 1: FNB / Phat Beets get $15,000 to collaborate on rennovating kitchen to commercial level esp fire suppression hood, walk-in, tile floor and maybe some plumbing. Joe potential project manager.
    • Kiva loan 2: Omni gets $10,000 to do final ballroom upgrades - bar area, stage production capability. Unclear who project manager would be. Laura will make some inquiries to some stage hand people she knows. Consider a list of potential 2nd-stringers?
