Updates

  • Laura: Attended the Real Estate Workshop on Wednesday - Very excited to work with us, for free or some payment that'd be part of the mortgage. If we want to go ahead with that, just need to call and set up a meeting. Very into a traditional nonprofit board model, had some good frameworks for getting the org in shape. Accrual basis of accounting versus cash-based accounting. Need to have the million dollar pledge in the books
    • Jose: Do we have a Letter of Intent from the anonymous donor? Need to put it on the books, even an email works.
      • Laura: Would be coming from their trust.
        • Jose: Talking with a woman from a space in East Oakland looking to buy their building, for $1mil, if we want to share knowledge. Meeting with a CPA tomorrow, near the Kaiser building around lunchtime (12pm @ 344 Thomas Berkeley Way - come through Webster St entrance)
  • Jenny: Converted all fiscally-sponsored project income to Non-Profit Income -> Sponsored Projects, still need to do Real Vegan Cheese. ONce that transactions is posted, and after checking in with Jose's friend, we will be ready to send in app
    • Jose: If they want us to post accrual-based financials, will need to split it to 2014/2015 accrual-based income
  • Jenny - stickers are ready, Marc is tweaking posters, Art Bison finally got back to her about printing the t-shirts.

Action Items

  • Laura will contact the Community Loan Fund about consulting with us. Will check in with David on his conversation with them first.
  • Laura will post the donated copiers on Craig's List.
  • Set up appointments with someone from each fiscally sponsored project to start sub accounts at bank [jenny]
