In the Fall of 2013, a constellation of East Bay collectives heard about a large building for rent in the Temescal neighborhood of Oakland. We saw an extraordinary opportunity to support one another’s efforts and build community in Oakland through the sharing of space and resources. Together, we represent diverse interests, missions, and activities.

Soon, the Omni Oakland Commons is coming to 4799 Shattuck Ave.

Things that could happen at the Omni include:

  • A Free School
  • Dance Classes
  • A Printing Press / Publishing Resources
  • A Hackerspace
  • Film Screenings
  • Free community events and workshops
  • A Bookstore / Cafe
  • Health & Wellness Resources

What would you like to see happen at the Omni?

We need your input! We want the Omni to become a vibrant community resource – always changing to meet the needs and interests of those who participate in the space.
