CCL

  • Michael - recently receive swabs from metasub, collects data in urban environments, biological data from environment, ie, virus, bacteria, etc, will be collecting samples/data for their database. narwhal (unicorn whales) phylogenetics project

CSC

  • In about a week, we'll be startin to work on the first online class (Zapatismo & Waffles)

FNB

  • Rolling along pretty well - Casa Zimbabwe cooking for FNB on Fridays
  • threw some of their leftovers into the meal, got rave reviews about the brand new presence of meat ;P had to shut that down as we serve vegan!

  • Had an Aftereffects class last Sunday(?), previous to that a DaVinci Resolv class
    • first class a bit of a shitshow. we got Zoom-bombed by Trumpsters. Turn off annotations when sharing screen!
    • Also filmstorming on a covid-19 documentary
  • Paying Omni rent in advance!

Sudo Mesh

  • Mai: previously discussed progress on disaster.radio - ordered boards to prep for june testing
    • Laptops For All received 11 laptops from KPFA, working on those
    • Currently experimenting with some services to run on our local internet - discourse forum set up by Seth for Golden Gate neighborhood
    • Looking into purchasing more WiFi hotspots for lending program
    • Tons of disaster readiness preparedness guides being dropped at Jenny's place.. adventures in gov't funding!

Discussions

Donating Omni's 501c3 to PLACE

  • grant-based fiscal sponsorship if they just want to be eligible for nonprofit grants
  • any relationship allowing a passthrough should have some percentage cut for omni
    • previous grant-based fiscal sponsorships we had a 7% admin fee (Safer DIY, The Village, Musick Creek)

Kitchen Project

  • Mary Ann: Where does the kitchen project stand right now? There's potential donors to support it given that it's a timely time for us to have a kitchen to prepare food for those in need
    • Jenny: No bids yet, we do have some recommended contractors.
  • possibility of getting a fire suppression system donated ($5K) by mary ann's son for kitchen if we pick him as a General Contractor
  • might put in a bid if there's definite interest
  • demand for this right now - pressure to turnaround response < 1 month
  • jenny suggests Joe and Jim (our architect) as leads on this

Update on Insurance

  • Our General Liability insurance was renewed!
