Pro Arts renting a room in Omni Basement
Pro Arts, a 49 year-old East Bay arts non-profit, is proposing to rent the open room in the basement for $300/mo. ($1 sq ft) for use as an office and a workspace for meeting with artists. Pro Arts would collaborate with Omni on activating the media lab as a site of art & cultural productions, as well as curate/present the occasional event in the ballroom (or other smaller rooms) at Omni, and provide support for maintenance and acquisition of event equipment (e.g. fixing the main PA). Pro Arts would pay Omni for event use in addition to the rent on the basement room.

Solidifying Unite's use of the office
- all is good for them to start using office, need to complete lease, they can move things just want to keep the filing cabinets paper and a recycling bin in there
Mulberry / loan refinance
- Joe asks about progress re: Mulberry
- Sarah submitted the report to Mulberry, and is working on a semi-formal budget with financial info from the last 12 months
Back rent?
- Sarah L will contact Joey about VOL back rent
We might get $50k grant from a donor
- We will find out for sure around May; it is for capacity building (paid staff: fundraising, accounting, legal, event manager, consulting)
FNB ending ban of someone
Several weeks back one of our Food Not Bombs volunteers had an argument wit a volunteer at the Free Store and the Free Store person claims they were threatened with violence. The FNB person has stayed away from the Omn i and FNB for 2 1/2 months and now wants to engage in mediation so they can return to volunteering for FNB. The idea had beed floated to engage a mediator (If memory serves Meredith Meren). Can we begin that process now? I propose Omni Commons dedicate $500 to contract the services of a Restorative Justice Mediator to meet with each of the parties for the purpose of offering a plan healing this rift.*
Fixing hard key on front door
- Front door lock is broken. At previous event, card reader and website interface were not working, and someone had to climb into the 2nd floor window.
- Jake feels passionate that we should not have hard keys. Others present feel we should fix the lock and get back to the existing status quo, except with far fewer keys circulating.
MOP storage
- Some of Myriad's tables went missing from their storage (unsecured shelved in basement, originally agreed on 10x10 space). 2 were found in ANV office, several more missing.
- Get lockable cabinet or small shed?
- Myriad not doing great financially, would like to reduce rent ($100/mo? just for unlocked storage)
- Propose rent reduction retroactive to January 1 of $100/mo?
