Check for mail for Omni

Who volunteers to go check if there's mail for Omni right now? This agenda item is part of the meeting notes template.

Finances

  • SMAC is ready to transfer funds to their new bank account
    • John - External Account transfers should work for this
    • Back payments on insurance for SMAC? -> SMAC was never in building while not paying rent, so their contribution towards insurance were folded in with rent. Issue was for Free Store /SR not paying rent to Omni anymore, meaning no payments towards rent
    • Silver still has access to unify so can do transfer on their own.
  • Omni Checking has ~$2k

Fiscal Sponsorship

  • Paige - do we ask for back payment for all of the days that groups were not paying insurance? Easiest would be to just collect agreed on fees going forwards, i.e. June 1st. But that does mean no one was contributing towards the last insurance bill. I have been looking at Sudo's finances, they are not very high right now, so I don't know that we could even imagine to get that from them.
  • John - I'm OK with starting collecting Fiscal sponsorship dues starting June 1st, and then asking Sudo Room and free store if they can pitch in for that last insurance bill. Also we should ask for donations for this period for transition.

Insurance

  • Paige - I have been going back and forth with Brignole for a while
    • around May 5th realized they had been under the assumption they thought we were still renting out the entire Omni Commons, including all event spaces.
    • They then issued a notice to AFCO telling them to reduce our square footage. Also sent a notice to cancel all insurance plans other than General Liability
    • I waited on cancelling the policy because I thought we would get a new quote soon, and preferred known company over a new insurance broker and plan. But still no quote back. They said refund would go back to May 5th at least, so at least we are not going to be charged the increased fee for this period.
  • John - best to just go with insurance that fits the bill for what CALLI requires. Then we can consider more comprehensive coverage once we figure out what our operations are once things settle.
  • Paige - So wait for new quote from Brignole or cancel now?
  • John - lets say if no new quote by EOD tomorrow, we will cancel

Sudo Room

trees

A number of trees were cut down outside the building. Remaining are trimmed down considerably.
