Details

  • 7pm in the Omni mezzanine

Attendees

  • Jenny, Cere, Patrick, Danny, Matt S, Derek

Agenda

Loomio

  • Derek works with Enspiral, the company behind Loomio! Loomio:
    • Creates an in-depth history of all decisions collectively made
    • Can be adapted for consensus, modified consensus, majority etc;
    • Can create subgroups (for eg working groups and collectives)
  • Describes "iterative decision-making" where everyone shares their questions/concerns and each person gives a green-light when they see their questions/concerns represented
  • Dot Voting / Ranked Choice voting
  • will always be free
  • individuals who propose something for a decision will get emails and updates, which will encourage their facilitation of the discussion PLUS their facilitation of the platform (which is minimal)
  • "people will share their voice on things they care about"
  • encourages a model by which anyone who cares about a topic / proposal can participate in the discussion / decision-making process, rather than certain point people being assigned to care about decisions

Email Update

via yar: "Sorry I can't make it, something last-minute came up, but I want to just say for the record that I am in the process of overhauling the omni server's email infrastructure with the aim of having as many email addresses and email lists as our hearts desire. You can consider me a bottom-liner although I prefer the status of "do-ocratic sysadmin". Let me know if that's cool. Some moral support would be nice! Status: would have already happened this morning except I had a really bad headache. Very soon." events@omni-oakland.org -> ballroom wg info@omni-oakland.org -> comms wg, set it up for a month and see what kind of demands on the system we get join or membership@omni-oakland.org -> facilitating collectivity or omnilogistics
