Volunteers!

• Libby spending 2 months on land use planning and zoning

Project Check-ins

South Wall

• Tuesday / Wednesday / Friday 10am-?
• joe: we fought with roundup today and reconstituted shreds of denim. our insulation is supposed to insulate sound but with no flanges, you have to pinch... we got it ok. DK says insulation is part of dead air space. but we struggled with different kinds of insulation for ever! frustrating. but whole first floor is done! rob & sean came through really good. i stapled my finger & went home. ow.
• he also pulled an electrical permit. we have 2 more inspections. next one will inspect insulation and things along main wall - the schemes for the ends without sound insulation. we might as well because plan seems ok. but they just have to ???. we can save time there - use insulation inspection to also get rough electrical, look at wiring & lighting along mezzanine
• laura: so we need to decide that
• joe: then we just get the drywall up for third/final inspection. also matt should measure bookcases. i dreamed of a fold down table.
• laura: wait on 3rd inspection until EVERYTHING is done including door, electrical, etc
• joe: who's doing front door? it'll be lots of overseeing. 2 people w/a workshop want to make it. then there'll be an electrician. gotta get it sync'd
• anka: not me, i thought it was dk
• matt: might hire someone. wrt bookshelves, don't stress, just do it, talk later
• laura: but bookshelf position will influence where we put the lights
• matt: but they can go anywhere
• jenny: like the room where cyberwizard was
• joe: but baffling
• laura: that's for in the ballroom
• joe: how do you know? who told you that?
• laura: putting soft things on the inside of the wall keeps the ballroom more dead
• joe: but some panels are hard
• laura: you wrap it in fabric
• libby: it's baffling. [badump]
• joe: also question of how much money this ballroom's worth. not making money
• laura: but it will...
• anka: proposal of monthly 1k event (digital detox)
• laura: it's not loud. wanna talk about light or electrical? small group breakout to decide how the mezzanine will look & function?
• joe: want more people, get more ideas
• matt: need to run any changes by everybody but will be easy
• jenny: so everyday but thurs you'll need volunteers

Doors

• Jesse volunteering to do structural work (sanding etc;) on our weird doors!
• Anka and the new volunteer installed 2 closers... unsuccessfully...
• Some doors are hollow, some have super old and weird hinges
• Main doors, ADA exit from ballroom -> La Commune is tricky, they don't actually close, overlap.
• Disco Room door is hollow
• Fire code requires such hardware only for rooms with capacity over 50
• Shattuck doors are great for soundproofing, but super weird.
  • David talked with an inspector who says we don't need panic bars for them
  • Instead, install a 'Viking lock'

Power

• Matt has trained 4 other people to trace the circuits
• Need to figure out remaining unlabeled circuits. We might have to disconnect the circuits and see if anyone says something isn't working
• Need to fix the upstairs bathroom, small project
• Power Fridays are still on, usually start at noon

ADA Bathroom

• Need to replace doorknob
• Need to paint the floor
• Safety bar beam

Ethernet

• Just need to run the public terminal cable and configure the routers
• Ballroom line is running atop power, needs to be rerun

Permit Plans

• Main focus is the ballroom fire inspection for legal assembly
• Fire inspection for the rest of the building
• Fire and Safety to pass by: August 1st

• One extinguisher needs to be moved upstairs to the mezzanine

mice

• patrik caught 6 today
• maybe more patching work tomorrow. foam + metal
• box of supplies is in the secure storage in a milk crate labeled 'rat patrol'

lights

• rob needs more flourescents but there should be some downstairs

This Week

• Joe - South wall and mezzanine plan + one small item
• Matt - Making sudomate, power fridays at noon, front door key & lock, basement bike parking, cancel bank card
• sean - more south wall, crow's nest tasks w/anka
• patrik - mouse patrol
• rob - insulating upper mezzanine, work on electrical tomorrow, trash room / mice catchings
• anka - doors doors doors
• jesse - look at ballroom doors, power friday
• laura - talk to claus, dump run (joe's truck?), buy lightbulbs, talk to libby about contacting tooth, edit posted to-do lists
• jenny - reclaim bank cards, contact john to mount and certfy fire extinguishers, reconciling building receipts
• yar - paint bathroom floor
• libby - just soaking things in

Action Items

• Ask Claus about which doors we *need* to have firesafe & exit lights for bathrooms
• Ask John to mount and certify the extinguishers next week (Jenny)
• Set up different contact for neighbors
• Follow up with Libby for contact with Tooth from Black Hole
• MOve ethernet cable in ballroom that was run along electrical wire
• GO thru to-do list and acquire parts and hardware that we dont have for the tasks (Jenny/Matt)
• Fill holes in the trash room
