Events

This Week

  • Unheard of Worlds rehearsals: They are pretty self sufficient at this point. Julio is pp but out of town.
  • Ligure Club meeting Tuesday: Laura is PP, sent invite out to omni-discuss. I need help to clean the ballroom/bathrooms. They are coming Monday at 5 to do the basic set-up.
  • Active Musci Series is overlapping with Ligure club time but is in the basement. Both events need sound.
  • Victims' Healing Circle and Info Session - next Sunday (13th) in the Disco Room: Max C is PP
  • Next Open Circle for families of victims of police brutality also next Sunday, 3-6pm in the basement or the ballroom, Jenny is PP, will put on Calendar manually

  • Inside Urban Shield II - need omni person to collect money for gerald's committee event, help group get set up,short contract
  • Benefit for the Free Speech Stage in People’s Park - 9/28 Needs PP, ask how serious they are, use parts of Laura's email to Yuba
  • (TBD, working title): An Evening with Sandra Steingraber, Needs PP 10/12
  • Oakland Record Swap and music, Needs PP
  • The Dicks From Texas: Needs PP
  • Reflections on the Zapatista Little School: Level 2 Laura is already the PP

  • Celebration of Life for Kyle Lesley - Sadie will PP, Jenny will assist. Sept. 25th in the ballroom.

Discussion

  • There is a hacky solution for the calendar issues currenting being implemented by Matt this week. Thanks Matt!
  • The Community Democracy Project would like to change their weekly meetings to Sunday evenings in the basement (previously Tuesdays). They are contributing $50/month. Any objections? seems fine
  • Bread and Puppet - Matt has been talking to them about a performance here. Gave lots of info. Matt was waiting to hear, but they never responded and he just contacted them again. SInce talking they have set up a whole west coast tour. Now are asking to do something here October 6th in the Ballroom. Matt asked them (Wendy) to fill out a request but they haven't yet. Wendy asked if we could help pay for them, but Matt clear they have to give us money. Matt will respond and send her the link to the request form, tell her that we are setting aside the 6th for them, but she has to submit the request form by a certain date or we cant hold it any longer.
  • Libbie - We should change the acknowledgement email for requests to say we will respond after the second Sunday of the month.
  • Libbie : Checking on open times in disco room for conversations about race at the omni, 3 Sundays, 9/13, 20, 27.
    • 13th is Restorative Justice victim's circle in disco room so time for the 1st convo is changed form 12-3

    • relevant: Ed is hosting a film and discussion session about white supremacy & white privilege on the 27th, 5-7pm, though reading his post it seems he thinks there's an open circle meetup that day. maybe can connect him w/ libbie?
