Finance/Fundraising Meeting - 12 March 2018

Attendees

  • Laura, Jenny, Brian

Agenda

  • New subleases
    • Laura Questions:
      • IS CSC paying any non-rent items? Answer: No.
      • Does FNB pay anything monthly outside of the $1 sublease? Answer: No, but they did make a voluntary donation last time.
    • Phat beats lease is starting on April 1st, was not signed last time.
    • Jenny: Do we need to renew our fiscal sponsorship agreements? Laura: They don't expire, but they can be reviewed at anyone's discretion. Some have the three% increase, some dont. we may want to review them at some point to make them all similar. (made into action item)
    • Upped all leases by three percent, for yearly renewal.
  • Google volunteers and fundraising opportunity
    • Laura sent out email about this. Gregory works at google, he likes the idea of sudo mesh being the lead in for google donations, IE the org that googlers would be most invested in for volunteering, they could get to know the space through that, and hopefully get involved in the Omni.
    • Tabling oportunity to go to google campus, set up a table and talk to googlers. Jenny says that Sudomesh would be interested in this, will put it on agenda for next meeting
      • Google donates a set amount of $ for each hour (~$10?) of employee volunteer time - also any donations from Google employees are matched by Goog
    • Laura: Now that Sudo mesh is a completely separate organization, we should figure out whether it is going to be its own member collective, and whether it will be paying rent/etc.
    • This brings up, should we have a lease agreement with Bay Area Applied Mycology. Since they are quite a bit like Sudomesh structurally.
      • Could sign a sublease to CCL. HAve a sublease agreement between CCL and Bay Area Applied Mycology.
    • Laura: What if they have a CPA who could do an audit for us?
      • Brian: Could also post on one of those volunteer aggregator sites
  • Sudo/CCL Door
    • Invoice for ~$600 for hanging door. Was not a budget request and charged to Omni w/o our consent.
    • Agreed to contribute $75 to the bill.
  • Kitchen fundraiser perk fullfillment
    • Now that we've gotten through the first phase of fundraising, we should start to fulfill the perks. Many people have asked for their own DIY T-shirt perk. Laura has been responding to Perk Fulfillment requests so far.
    • Jenny: Kazoo is back in action now. They have been getting last of stuff from SF studio. Jenny can talk to Kazoo. Four people have asked for screen printing.
    • Looks like one or two people who want the movement perk.
    • Buttons and stickers should be easy, we have them.
    • Two sticker request, Cory Johns and Davis.
    • Dinner and a Movie - 2 people - perhaps invite to next LibLens film screening w/ meal and give VIP table?
    • Generosity.com is merging with Youcaring, so we will announce stage 2 of fundraising once that merge is complete at end of month.
  • Village fundraising to pay people
    • Can generously reimburse eg phone, gas, transportation, meals (little sketchier), any equipment or tools (need to demonstrate being used for projects)
